After completing her secondary and high school education with a degree in Antakya Ata College, Prof. Dr. Özay Özkaya continued her education at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. She graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1999 and earned the title of Medical Doctor.
Before starting medicine as a Plastic Surgeon, she aimed to understand human psychology. For this reason, she started her specialization in Marmara University Psychiatry Department between 1999-2001. At that time,she worked with Prof. Dr.Esat Göktepe one of the world's and Turkey's best psychiatrists who is also her mentor. In 2001, she started her Plastic Surgery residency training at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital, Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Clinic. During her residency training, she worked intensively in the field of Reconstructive Microsurgery and Aesthetic Surgery and worked as an executive of experimental and clinical research with many clinical tasks.
The first European Board certified Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgeon 'before becoming an expert in Turkey
In 2007, by going to the city of London, England, She carried out studies on especially postbariatric surgery and breast reconstructions.By winning European Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Qualifying Exam (EBOPRAS), She became the first European Board certified Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgeon 'before becoming an expert in Turkey
In 2008, after completing Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery residency training,she established the Plastic Surgery clinic in Yalova, where she went for Compulsory Service, and she was awarded a certificate of success due to the specific surgeries performed by her.
In 2010,she started working in the teaching staff in the Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Clinic of Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital. During this period, she performed many surgeries, especially on breast surgery, skin cancers and postbariatric surgery, and also gave trainings on these issues.
In 2013 her work of publication on Abdominoplasty operations ,was the first prize in the "Turkey's Best" contest which was held by The Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. In the same year, she received the title of Associate Professor by the evaluations of her many domestic and international research, book authorship, congress and symposium speeches.
In 2020, she earned the title of "Professor Doctor".
Prof. Dr. Özay Özkaya who is a consultant in Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery has been welcoming her patients at her private clinique in Nişantaşı since 2018.

Prof. Dr. Özay Özkaya has acquired the most important principle and aim of ensuring her patients to receive treatment in the light of of the latest scientific data with her experience with many Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgeries by over 100 scientific articles and papers she had written and numerous National and International Congresses, courses and Symposiums she had attended. In addition to intensive surgery and clinical practices, she works as a lecturer at Beykoz University, teaches in the light of the current data of new generations, and continues her educational activities as an instructor in scientific congresses, symposiums and courses.
